Queensland science and research priorities

The Queensland Government has a plan to create knowledge-based jobs, drive productivity improvements and build on our natural advantages. The Advance Queensland program will deliver a suite of programs that are specifically designed to encourage research and innovation, particularly in areas where our state has a competitive advantage.

To ensure any future investments provide value for money and are well aligned with Queensland Government objectives, the Queensland Chief Scientist has reviewed Queensland’s Science and Research Priorities to ensure they are focused on well-defined areas, use our competitive advantages, and reflect identified needs and activities the government considers important.

These priorities were developed with industry, academia, and the university and research sector after an extensive consultation process.  We welcome feedback on the detail around each of the priorities, and will publish updated versions periodically.
